There are good seats at sporting events and there are great seats. I sat in a great seat — one of the best in the house — at Wrigley Field Sunday, thanks to a great friend. (You’re the best, Joe!)
I’m a White Sox fan, but when second-row box seats near the home dugout are the lure, I can swallow my South Side pride and head up to Wrigley. Besides, who says I wasn’t there to cheer for my former favorite Sox player, Aaron Rowand?
But really, it was all about enjoying baseball with good company on a sun-drenched day, and celebrating the fact that both Chicago baseball clubs were entering the All-Star break in first place. No gloating from me when the Cubs lost 4-2 to the Giants.
The only disappointment on my end was that Ernie didn’t show up and convince them to play two.
