“Words and Toons” has been home to my cartoons and various forms of silliness for almost two years, and I’d like to thank everyone who has stopped by. Many of you know I also have a site called “Captain Scratchy,” which until recently featured a comic strip with a cast of goofball characters. Starting today, “Captain Scratchy” is replacing “Words and Toons” as my Monday through Friday stand-alone cartoon home. Because I pay for web hosting at “Captain Scratchy,” I have more control over that site, and I have big plans for it in the near future.
The “Words and Toons” archives will remain here, and I’ll keep posting here from time to time. But for everyone who has enjoyed “Words and Toons,” I urge you to make “Captain Scratchy” part of your regular surfing experience. There will be a wide variety of cartoon styles there, and some of the characters who have appeared on “Words and Toons” will be in the rotation (including Angry Horse and his pals).
Thanks, and see you at “Captain Scratchy!”

Do you smell that? There must be a freshly baked cartoon at Captain Scratchy.

I was recently interviewed by writer/artist Debbie Ridpath Ohi for her Inkygirl website. You can read the interview, which focuses on my greeting cards, by clicking HERE.
Debbie is a wonderful cartoonist and someone whose work I have admired for years. She provides terrific insight and tips for writers, and is the author of The Writer’s Online Marketplace.

Did you know that my webcomic, Captain Scratchy, now features new episodes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, as well as bonus content on other selected days? It’s true. Click HERE to go there!

In case you’re wondering, that’s not Angry Horse. It’s Todd Horse, one of Angry Horse’s distant cousins.
But Angry Horse does make an appearance in a new Captain Scratchy episode, which you can see by clicking HERE.

Here are a few more favorite cartoons as we continue to look back on Year One of Words and Toons …
I’ve been meaning to redraw the final panel of this one so it’s clear there are several squirrels in the guy’s pants, rather than one very long squirrel.

Here’s the most viewed cartoon in Words and Toons history:

Speaking of Captain Scratchy, that’s the name of my new webcomic site. Check it out here.
The Captain Scratchy title of the webcomic doesn’t refer to the Captain Scratchy of the above cartoon, by the way. Confused? Me too. The new site is in its infancy, and so far it has cartoons cribbed from Words and Toons. Soon it will stand on its own two (or four) legs, so please bookmark it and check in often!
